Gambler500

 2020 Gambler 500

COVID in the air and weeds around the car, we're doin' this

The goal for the Gambler500 is to find the most inappropriate car for some off-road fun while not spending more than $500.  I found one for free and Sean has foolishly decided to join me on this adventure.  Giving it a shot with a 1988 300E that has sat in a field for 5 years and during that time mice and ants moved in so it was not lonely.  Now that property managers Sean and Steve have evicted the prior tenants we will take up residence as we travel around south central Oregon.
Each section below is a slide show that can be scrolled through

First let's get it home

Moving it from its 5 year resting spot

Amazingly the tires sort of held air so it could be rolled onto the trailer that we borrowed from fellow Gambler Kevin Mapes for the trip from a field near McMinnville Oregon to Beaverton Oregon.

A different take on it

The Repairs

Time to get it running

What we found out is wrong with it
Dead battery, leaking tires, broken wires under the hood, ants, mice, bad fuel, 2 windows not working, no Heat or A/C, brakes very bad, stereo not working, gove box wont stay closed, trunk would not stay closed, drivers seat not moving

And on and on and on

The Event

Time to do the Gambler

Pics are coming and write up after the event
